Wallowa Resources is hosting a one-day rangeland monitoring workshop in Lostine, OR. Come learn about the 7 simple types of monitoring that you already know how to do (but don't know that you know). Calculate how much total forage grew for the season, and how much remains after grazing. Learn how to use the Grazing Index to "score" your grazing management. Assess the ecological processes that are occurring on your lands, and use this information to make profitable management decisions. This workshop will make you look at your pastures in a different light and give you the knowledge and motivation you need to start monitoring today!
-Cost per participant is $20 and includes lunch.

Miles City, MT: EKG Site Mechanics
This was such a fun and successful training last year, that we decided to do it again this year! For ranchers, agency professionals, and other conservationists ready to begin a monitoring program...The course begins with an introduction to land monitoring, forage production, and grazing management but spends the majority of time teaching participants the mechanics of setting up EKG transects, using EKG photo methods, and documenting site information. The training is set in a beautiful area of eastern Montana's rolling plains. Great accommodations at Ogdahl Rocking O Outfit: "catered camping" with tents and meals provided. This will be a learning experience and outdoor setting you wont forget, at a perfect fall time of the year. No experience required! $475 covers all training, lodging, and meals.
